Investor, developer, and regeneration specialists First Urban has recently received approval for its plans to redevelop a former Jewson warehouse site into a 345-bed PBSA scheme in Guildford.
The development will aid in the brownfield regeneration of the 1.5 acre under-utilised warehouse site.
Situated close to the main station in the town centre, the proposed scheme totals approx. 15,700 sqm gross internal accommodation and will contain 54 affordable flats along with associated landscaping and amenity space.
“We would like to thank our consultants and professional team for their hard work and assistance throughout the process and look forward in due course to pushing forward with the regeneration of this strategically located town centre brownfield site. We are actively seeking further land opportunities throughout the UK.”
Daniel Goldberg, Director, First Urban
With the scheme, the developer aims to significantly improve the public realm by enhancing the pedestrian and cycle connections between the nearby University of Surrey, the station and the town centre.
First Urban is continuing to seek new regeneration opportunities nationwide in all sectors.
However, the approval of its new Guildford-based scheme has allowed the company to extend its presence into the PBSA market.
