Student Roost has partnered with student accommodation management software creators – Kinetic – to become the first purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) provider to launch the StudentLife resident wellbeing platform.

The introduction of Kinetic’s StudentLife case management system is an extension to Student Roost’s commitment to resident wellbeing, forming part of an ambitious plan to improve and raise awareness of the mental wellbeing of university students throughout the UK.

This extra layer of support for residents and guidance for team members will enable the continuation of the successful resident-led collaboration with university partners, mental health services, charities and organisations.

“Over the last four years, we have created a robust, award-winning resident wellbeing programme to identify high risk residents and create tailored approaches for our properties using insight and data.

“We knew we could elevate the support we already provide and further empower residents to access support when they need it the most. This collaboration with Kinetic will do just that, and more. As we already use Kinetic’s Kx programme throughout the business, the addition of StudentLife will create one centralised system, allowing us to identify at risk students easily and quickly, intervene to provide support and signposting, and track the progression of each case.

“Launching in September, the bespoke customer experience offered by StudentLife will also give us the opportunity to create surveys and gain valuable insights, enabling best practice in resident wellbeing to be shared across the PBSA sector.”

Lowri Edwards, Resident Wellbeing Manager, Student Roost

Student Roost have a long-standing partnership with Kinetic; suppliers of the ‘Kx’ tenant and property management system and online booking journey.

Ahead of the 2024/25 academic year, each resident will have a StudentLife profile built into their existing Kx account, creating an integrated customer journey and enabling Student Roost’s dedicated Resident Wellbeing team to cater to individual needs, identify trends and tailor support to each city and property.

Team members across all 50+ Student Roost properties will have greater visibility of at-risk students using StudentLife, enabling them to intervene earlier and provide support and signposting via a centralised system.

The partnership with Kinetic and launch of ‘StudentLife’ provides an extension to the proactive, award-winning resident wellbeing programme already in place at Student Roost. Their vision to provide safe spaces, meaningful connections and remarkable experiences drives its resident wellbeing and safety strategy, while also highlighting how a supportive, safe, and community-led living experience can positively impact student mental health.

“We are absolutely thrilled about the launch of StudentLife at Student Roost. As a valued partner of Kinetic, Student Roost are the first PBSA operator to benefit from such an impactful solution for managing resident wellbeing, which will be hugely complimentary to their existing wellbeing programme.

“The comprehensive reporting tools, trend tracking, and analytics offered through StudentLife will undoubtedly make a significant, positive impact on student’s mental, emotional and physical health, enabling a proactive approach to identifying concerns, tracking welfare and effective case management.

“We can’t wait to see Student Roost residents thrive with the added support and care that StudentLife provides. Combined with the launch of KxEngage, Student Roost’s new community app, future residents will enjoy a truly elevated and digital focused living experience.

“We are proud to partner with Student Roost, who continue to prioritise the wellbeing of their student community.”
