
Student accommodation provider Unite Students has completed 11 refurbishment projects this year from Glasgow to London, with a total cost of £32m. The overall refurbishment programme includes an annual spend of £50m to £75m over the next five years.
Providing accommodation to 5,239 residents, the refurbishments, which also include minor improvements, form part of Unite Students’ growing refurbishment programme.
Stapleton House in North London has undergone a £1.5m refurbishment of its amenity spaces, which now includes a new reception and study and social areas.
The 862-unit purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme, which is home to students at the University College London, also has a common room and a private outdoor courtyard.

With over 1,000 students, Cedar House in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter comprises 102-units. It forms part of Unite Students’ Student Village and recently underwent a full refurbishment of its bedrooms, bathrooms and amenity spaces, costing £2.6m.
Thurso Street in Glasgow comprises 405-units and has also received a full refurbishment. Located opposite the University of Glasgow campus in the West End, the development had an £8m spent on improvements and has a spacious common room and communal study space.

Other refurbishment projects include Angel Lane, North Lodge, Olympic Way and Station Court in London, Rosalind Franklin in Portsmouth, Oak Brook Park in Birmingham, Rushford Court in Durham and Kyle Park House in Glasgow.
