Vertically integrated student accommodation platform – Nido Living – has appointed Giuseppe Zafferri as its Head of Italy.

Giuseppe, who joins Nido Living from CA Ventures, carries over 18 years of experience in Italian real estate investment and acquisitions.

His role will focus on sourcing investment opportunities and overseeing development projects, leveraging his expertise to establish a strong foothold in the country’s burgeoning student accommodation sector.

“Italy faces a substantial gap between supply and demand for student accommodation. I’m excited to lead Nido’s strategic entry into this dynamic market.

“With experience in forward funding, and real estate acquisitions, I look forward to contributing to Nido’s ambitious growth plans and vision for redefining student living across Europe.”

He has degrees in Building Architecture, and Civil Engineering, from Politecnico University in Milan and has completed Executive Director Business Programmes at CFMT.

His appointment builds on Nido’s recent leadership expansion, including Carlo Matta as CEO, Ryan Lee as CFO, Taco van Heusden as CIDO, and the establishment of a new Board with Dr Beatrice Lafon as Chairwoman.

“Giuseppe’s proven leadership and extensive network in Milan and across Italy will be instrumental in Nido Living’s expansion.

“His expertise, particularly in identifying and developing prime opportunities, positions us to succeed in a market ripe for growth.

“We’re excited to welcome him as we continue our European journey.”

Nido Living is actively recruiting for roles at its Amsterdam headquarters and teams across Europe as the platform expands. In addition to Italy, Nido Living is focusing its growth on Germany and continued expansion in Spain.

Nido Living was recently acquired by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) and has since transitioned into a vertically integrated platform. This adds development and investment activities to its well-established operational expertise, positioning the platform for significant growth across Europe, and Italy in particular.
