Lavanda has announced the launch of LavandaLabs, a first-of-its-kind innovation lab designed to help the Build to Rent, purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) and serviced living sectors unlock the full potential of AI and other emerging technologies.

LavandaLabs will provide operators, developers and investors with a direct line to industry-leading technology and AI experts.

The innovation lab brings together a multi-disciplinary team of technology, product, and engineering specialists to tackle a range of challenges the sector faces as it navigates the fast-evolving AI landscape.

LavandaLabs’ main objective is to help industry partners reap the positive benefits of technological change and innovation by sharing research, insights and best practices through collaboration, experimentation and innovation.

These include overcoming concerns around privacy, trust and safety, addressing the high costs and complexity of AI adoption, as well as preparing organisational data to fully exploit AI’s potential.

“The truth of the matter is that even the biggest real estate firms struggle to take advantage of the AI revolution that is already underway.

“Many lack the expertise and resources to integrate these emerging technologies into their operations effectively.

“LavandaLabs is here to change that, providing a platform that not only demystifies AI, but also empowers multifamily and student accommodation companies to innovate, adapt and thrive in an increasingly AI-empowered world.”

LavandaLabs is actively partnering with PBSA operators to explore how their portfolios can leverage AI to significantly enhance the resident experience.

This includes improving communications, driving lead-to-lease conversion rates, better enabling self-service and accelerating issue resolution.

LavandaLabs addresses these challenges head-on by focusing on AI research, AI engineering and AI data and solution architecture.

“AI is poised to transform how the residential property sector operates, offering new ways to innovate, streamline processes and enhance customer experiences.

“Complexity, data readiness and justifiable caution around safety and data handling risks can slow adoption. LavandaLabs is here to help the industry navigate this rapidly shifting landscape.”
