McLaren Construction’s Midlands and North division has stated that the construction process is ‘on track’ with its purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) development on Talbot Street in Nottingham.

Work on the £25.8m PBSA development is advancing as planned and is scheduled to welcome students this September. Designed by Leonard Design Architects, the nine-storey building will replace a former five-storey office block formerly occupied by Domestic and General and will comprise 323-bedrooms when complete.

“The Talbot Street project is progressing exceptionally well, and we are proud to be delivering high-quality, sustainable accommodation for students that will enhance Nottingham’s offering.

“The completion of the roof and the opening of the marketing suite mark key achievements, and we are excited to continue bringing this ambitious development to life in the coming months.”

Darren Harding, Division Director, McLaren Construction

The upper level of the building will feature studio apartments with larger layouts that will provide views over Nottingham. Amenities include an on-site gym, yoga room, and social study spaces and it is also set to include an entertainment room with a cinema on the ground floor.

The development focuses on sustainability and is aiming for a BREEAM Excellent rating. McLaren Construction has reached important milestones with the development, which includes the completion of the roof structure and the opening of a marketing suite on Talbot Street in late 2024. Interior enhancements are underway to improve the living experience, with feature walls and upgraded soft furnishings.
