Nuveen Real Estate has appointed Nicolas Biganzoli to the role of Managing Director, Head of Investments in France. In this role, Nicolas will be responsible for overseeing investment activity across the risk spectrum for Nuveen’s real estate platform across all sectors in France.
Nicolas joins Nuveen with over 20 years of real estate experience. He started his career at Deutsche Bank in Real Estate Investment Banking in London, before moving to Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), where he worked on over €2.5bn of acquisitions in all asset classes across Continental Europe.
He moved back to France in late 2019 to set up a living platform through the redevelopment of derelict industrial sites and obsolete office assets.
Based in Paris, the appointment follows Nuveen Real Estate’s recent investment activity in France, notably via the committed acquisition of Gecina’s €540m YouFirst student housing platform in partnership with Global Student Accommodation (GSA).
Once complete, Nuveen Real Estate’s committed portfolio of assets under management in France will total €1.8bn – with France identified as a key strategic and growth market.
