British Offsite has announced its role in the delivery of an innovative 138-bedroom purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) project in partnership with Weston Partnerships and Vertex Living – with a contract value of £2m.

British Offsite’s expertise in offsite manufacturing has ensured the project aligns with Vertex Living’s requirements for a modern and efficient student housing development.

Located in Orchard Park, Cambridge, this turnkey project exemplifies British Offsite’s commitment to sustainable, high-quality and low-maintenance construction solutions.

This ambitious project showcases the collaborative approach taken across the Weston Group. The design, manufacture and supply of 138 student apartments will be delivered by Weston Partnerships over a five-storey loadbearing steel frame structure.

“At Vertex Living, we are dedicated to redefining student living through smart, sustainable and high-quality accommodation.

“Orchard Park in Cambridge exemplifies our commitment to creating vibrant, well-designed spaces that enhance student experiences while embracing innovative construction methods.

“Working with British Offsite allows us to deliver a modern, energy-efficient living environment that meets the evolving needs of students today and in the future.”

Utilising British Offsite’s revolutionary UNisystemLB, the project incorporates innovative panel wall and floor systems that are engineered to deliver ‘fit-and-forget’ efficiency and sustainable performance.

The project, using UNisystemLB (Load Bearing), allows British Offsite to bring its precision-manufactured building components to an essential new market, meeting the growing demand for energy-efficient, sustainable and low maintenance housing within the PBSA sector.

UNisystemLB can save 30% or more build programme time, making it a compelling choice for use on mid-rise apartment blocks, retirement apartments, healthcare, education, student accommodation projects and many others.

The British Offsite UNisystemLB panels come complete with internal and external insulation and brick tie channels, ensuring superior airtightness, thermal efficiency, acoustic performance and non-combustible fire safety.

The precision offsite manufacturing significantly accelerates the construction timeline, enabling faster compartmentalisation of floors and earlier customer viewings, thus enhancing asset value for developers.

“We are proud to be at the forefront of delivering innovative, sustainable solutions for the student accommodation sector with this landmark project in Cambridge.

“The Orchard Park development demonstrates the incredible potential of our UNisystemLB technology to transform construction timelines whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency.

“This collaboration with Weston Partnerships and Vertex Living highlights the strength of our turnkey approach and our commitment to creating modern, low-maintenance and energy-efficient buildings that meet the needs of today and tomorrow.”
