YourTribe and HG Construction have reached a construction milestone, topping out at the Avonmouth Street purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) development in Elephant and Castle in South London.
The topping out ceremony was celebrated alongside some of the wider project team, including Aitch Group, architect ACA Studios and interior designer A Designer At Heart.
YourTribe’s Avonmouth Street PBSA scheme will deliver 226 student beds along with amenity space over 14 storeys, with commercial space on the basement and lower floors. HG Construction is self-delivering the frame, M&E and offsite bathroom pods, securing programme and quality benefits for the client.
This logistically complex scheme required a solutions-focused approach. HG Construction’s team successfully managed the challenges which included extensive temporary works to enable the excavation of a double basement delivered by its internal delivery teams to keep progress on track.
With an RC frame standing over a double storey basement, elevations of patternlike brickwork complete, the scheme is progressing with the internal fit out well underway.
The wider project team for YourTribe’s scheme also includes Structural Engineer Form Structural Design, M&E Designer CGP | MEP and Taylor Project Services LLP, and HPH.
The Avonmouth Street development is HG Construction’s second development for Your Tribe.
