Acquiring the site in 2022 and following the submission of a planning application in February 2024, Regal London’s plans for the redevelopment of 100 Chalk Farm Road into a new PBSA scheme in Camden, London is recommended for approval.
A final decision will be made at Camden Council’s planning committee meeting next Thursday (12 September 2024), however planning officers recommend granting conditional planning permission subject to a s106 agreement.
If approved, the Chalk Farm Road PBSA scheme will deliver 265 student bedrooms and 24 affordable homes across four blocks ranging from six to 12 storeys.
Designed in collaboration with DSDHA and landscape architects BBUK Studio, the scheme will also include 455 sqm of commercial space and new public realm and landscaping.
The 0.75 acre Chalk Farm Road site sits adjacent to the Grade II-listed Roundhouse, a renowned live performance venue in the Regents Canal Conservation Area.
Dubbed to be one of the first PBSA projects in the UK to be accredited WELL Platinum, developer Regal is aiming to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating whilst targeting BREEAM Outstanding.
