YourTRIBE has secured two development loans, totalling £114m, from Maslow Capital. The finance will enable YourTRIBE to deliver two premium PBSA schemes – the St James development in Walthamstow and Ravensbourne Wharf in Greenwich.

Combined, the schemes will deliver 638 PBSA units and 10,600 sq ft of commercial space, reinforcing Maslow Capital’s commitment to addressing the chronic undersupply of high-quality student accommodation in the UK and Europe.

The funding package includes a £35m facility for the 224-bedroom St James PBSA scheme with 5,300 sq ft of commercial space in Walthamstow, as well as a £79m facility for the 414-bedroom Ravensbourne Wharf PBSA scheme with 5,352 sq ft of commercial space in Greenwich.

The Walthamstow project is set to reach practical completion in time for the 2026 academic intake, with the Greenwich scheme following in 2027.

Maslow Capital is supporting YourTRIBE during a period of significant growth following its successful market entry. In its first year of operation, YourTRIBE has established key university partnerships, delivered two schemes ahead of schedule, and earned industry recognition, winning the #1 and #2 Best SE-London Property awards at Student Crowd’s Student Voice Awards 2024.

“Our belief that student accommodation should be more than just a place to stay is at the core of everything we do, it’s embedded in every stage, from land acquisition to the delivery of world-class living environments.

“These exciting new developments in Walthamstow and Greenwich mark a key milestone in our ambition to become the leading provider of premium student accommodation in London. “With London’s world-class universities attracting students from across the globe, the demand for purpose-built student accommodation continues to far exceed supply. Many students still struggle to find well-located, high-quality housing that meets their needs, and developments like these play a crucial role in addressing this shortfall.

“These schemes will offer students a best-in-class living experience, with high-specification amenities that foster community, wellbeing, and academic success. This is the kind of accommodation students deserve, and we are proud to help make it a reality.”

London continues to experience one of the highest levels of demand for PBSA in the UK, with just one available bedroom for every 3.6 students – well above the national average of one bedroom for every 2.1 students.

Additionally, 44% of London’s student population is international, compared to the national average of 25.2%, reinforcing the need for well-located, high-quality student accommodation to meet growing demand.
