Rockfield Real Estate has announced that Covadonga Sanz Llaca has joined the organisation as its Head of Asset Management – Europe. In her new role, she will focus on the residential segment, with a particular emphasis on purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), flex and residential real estate across Europe.
Covadonga joins Rockfield Real Estate as it scales its European student housing operations through an initial investment of €500m in the Core+ Pan European Strategy which launched in 2024, followed by a strong pipeline in major European cities including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Madrid, Milan and Paris.
Covadonga brings with her over a decade of experience in the real estate market. Prior to joining Rockfield, she spent five years at Greystar, where she managed a portfolio of over 10,000 student accommodation beds, 3,500 flexible apartment units and a wide range of residential assets across Spain.
“We are delighted to welcome Cova to Rockfield at a time when the business is undergoing a substantial growth phase.
“She will be a key member of the leadership team and a testament to Rockfield’s commitment to becoming a destination for leading talent. Cova will support our ongoing pan-European ambitions in student and residential real estate.”
Wouter van den Eijnden, CEO, Rockfield Real Estate
Prior to Greystar, Covadonga worked at Hines, where she was a senior associate in the asset management team, where she was responsible for identifying and executing real estate management initiatives for assets in Madrid and Barcelona – including leasing, renovation, development and sales. Prior to joining Hines, she worked at AXA and PwC.
As a key member of the Rockfield team, Covadonga will report to Rockfield CIO Juan Manuel Acosta and will be responsible for enhancing the company’s portfolio through active asset management of Rockfield’s student, flex and residential assets across Europe.
“I am delighted that Cova has decided to join Rockfield as the next step in her career. She is a leading figure in real estate who is widely recognised for her extensive asset management and for building platforms across Spain. Her achievements in the Spanish Flex Housing sector are second to none, so a European role was a natural next step and she will play a vital role in growing our European business whilst working closely with all our teams and partners.”
