McAleer & Rushe is moving ahead with construction, with a further update on Greystar’s Canvas Wembley purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in Wembley (also known as Canvas Arthur House and NE01) following reaching a milestone at the project just last month.

Since McAleer & Rushe’s last update, works have progressed significantly with amenity joinery fit out in motion, mast climber removal commenced, and external works progressing well. Client snagging is complete across ten floors, with corridor and lobby decorations advancing, alongside ongoing commissioning and functional testing.

The 19-storey, 770-unit PBSA development for Greystar (International) will deliver a modern, high-quality and sustainable student living experience under its Canvas brand.

The Canvas Wembley site is part of a 12-acre district that will create a mixed tenure community next to the biodiverse seven-acre Union Park.

“The countdown to completion is underway at NE01! Targeting a BREAAM Excellent rating, we’re delivering NE01 in a way that benefits both the community and the environment.

“We’re pleased to have achieved our Section 106 target and are proud to support local skills development, with 19 apprentices currently gaining experience on site.”

Once complete, the Canvas Wembley scheme will feature two lounges, co-working spaces, a café, library, gym, yoga studio and private dining areas.

The PBSA development, within the North East Lands development near Wembley Stadium, will be all-electric and is connected to the District Heat Network to provide efficient heating solutions.

Greystar acquired the PBSA site from Quintain in April 2023 to deliver the Canvas Wembley scheme. The company entered into its first green loan in the UK for the acquisition, underscoring its commitment to delivering an environmentally responsible and sustainable building.

The wider project team includes AtkinsRéalis, HTA Design, Walsh, Caldwell Consulting and Building Performance Prediction.
